I did a little thinking amidst the madding rush of catching up with tutorials and lost lessons and realised one crucial point; why I had chosen to travel half an hour by car and one hour by train to this rather old, over-charging and extremely far away school.
I yearn to be different and stand out.
The reason is that simple, it had been staring at me blatantly in the face for the past few weeks and yet I looked right through it as if it were cellophane. Allow me to explain further how going to AC allows me to stand out. As most of you know, I'm the only hildan there. I know that my grades weren't exactly fantasitic, they weren't even single digit. One to ordinary, zilch to exception to the norm. But unlike my fellow JC-going counterparts, some who did better than me, I dared ot venture out of the safety waters, the east.
I managed to stand out in St Hilda's for the previous 2 years by doing considerably well, (seriously I don't mean to brag despite my often claims of ego) But however, after my O level results failed me to leave my 'mark' in St hilda's, I had to make my final mark in order to not let my labour throughout the 2 years go to waste just because the fruits were rotten. I wasn't planning to give up that easily.
And thus I decided on a prominent JC in the west, one which is well-known, and reputed to be high-achieving in many ways. The fact that the school was so suited to my liking of being English-based was simply a bonus.
I'm in ACJC. And I don't care if you think I'm bragging or you think AC's not good, I know I sound naggy after practically alternating posts about AC, but ehy, it's MY life and MY blog now. *snobbish look*
No la, AC's not that snobby. =)

Entertainment 101
Hey! I've decided to be less wordy and more entertaining, since Annie finds that my blog 'ain't rawkin no more'. Haha, I came across these 2 videos on U-tube that evening, one is downright fantastic (if you're an amateur guitarist like me) and one is downright freaking hilarious. Serious, trust me. It's been a long time since I've come this close to peeing in my pants.
So, for all you budding guitarists out there this one's for you!

By the ways, not to take credit for the video, it was introduced to me by Aiping dearest who was introduced to it by her friend. Perhaps it's him playing, haha...
All right, and here's the one EVERYONE should watch. Shoot yourself if you don't. It's WAY better than Russell Peters. But then again, even my grandma telling a joke is funnier than him.

It simply rocks!!
MY gosh, I'll put up more interesting links once in a while. But for now, since my sister sold the camera cable and I no longer can upload any new silly photographs, here's one from the Presbyterian fund-raising funfair a bunch of us from the church band went for. We paid $4 for this off-centre, mid-range resolution, amateurly taken photograph. So appreciate it!
And here's us being completely aesthetic and original. Considering that we had 6 shots to use up, a few weird ones wouldn't do any harm right? So presenting the Primate. Evolution of the intellectual to the 'kiam pa'.

Me, Myself and I.
Yes, blogger has finally agreed ot adhere to my clicks. And here is the photograph I promised of the wonderful company I left in SA. Honestly I've been beginning to feel the pinch of choosing to enter ACJC as much as I tell myself each day that it's merely the beginning and that it all gets better over time. It's not that the people here are exactly hostile, they just aren't as warm and welcoming as those which I left in SA. Well looking on the bright side at least they aren't sickeningly overly enthusiastic and happy-clappy, (a term presumably coined by my ex-Lit teacher.) Perhaps the attractive fact that AC is in the Top 5 this year causes all the uptightness and lack of silly hee-haw prancing about.
One thing however that has occured to my surprise is that despite me having been moving around alone half of the time, I don't feel as lonely and enstranged from civilisation than as I did when the same thing happened in SA. I narrowed it down to 2 possibilities of this behaviour,
1) I've become so caught up in ensuring I do well for the A levels that social companionship no longer is my exact top priority and worry. Namely, I've become immune to the feeling of solitude.
2) SA was full of smiling people whose only concern in the world weren't their grades but whether they were socially accepted and deemed 'in' by their peers and thus pranced about in groups ranging from 2s to 20s. However this was obviously not true for AC as people, though walking in groups, are actually rather segregated in their own ways and thus make not being 'in' look perfectly normal and sometimes, you look better off.
Obviously I'd prefer the latter to be true.
And as much as I'm itching like hell to complain/bitch about specific groups of people in the school, I decided that it would be much muCH wiser not to as (sadly) they make up quite a prominent number in my school. Anyways, in case you're about to condemn me for all this un-love, I've been doing my best not to upset people as well as myself by making snide remarks at or about these people. I do admit that I did do so the last couple of days, but hey, I went through today without any comment whatsoever about them!
It's one commandment everyone should obey (besides ALL of them), to love others as thyself.
I'm getting used ot it. I'm getting used to it. I'm getting used to it. I'm getting used to it.

A lil' devotion...
I decided to devote a short little post to my ex-3-month-old fellow comrads from SAJC from where we've all split to multiple directions. Well, actually the majority of those whom you see in the photographs have remained Saints, so if any desperado cannot help but be himself and wants to get to know any of them, GO THERE YOURSELF LA!
Okay, blogger is killing me by refusing to upload my photographs of the gorgeous babes in SAJC, (Guys, DRool.) And thus I am but left to entertain you with my words of wisdom.
Now do as I've said in the previous post. I promise a more entertaining and fully fascinating post once I get this bloody blogger working the way I want it to work.
And I shall take my leave to boost my blain I mean brain power by eating live LuoHan from my neighbours tank.

Local Scenes
All right now, I think the title is a little over-rated. I intended and still do intend to speak of one local scene of which I'm considerable familiar with; The local music scene! We all know artists like Corrine May, (shoot yourself if you don't) Ronin, The Suns and of course my PERSONAL favourite, EIC.
The names mentioned above were merely to prove that I'm considerable educated in the topic stated. My ploy was mainly to advertise freely this wonderful band. (Muahahaha...) They jam mainly at clubs/pubs/bars/cafes (I'm so naive that I don't any idea if there's any difference) They do a mixture of covers and originals. I must say that they're covers are extremely impressive! I find their trump card being their vocalists, both of which sound fantastic over amplifiers blasting down your ear canals!!
Still pensive on whether they're really that good? Go down to the Outdoor Theatre at the Esplanade Theatres this Friday at 8pm and you'll get what I mean. I simply love the genres they perform, so if you're a heavy-metal- head-banging-noise-digging person, EIC's not for you. So stay at home and kill your eardrums for all I care. EIC plays MUsic mind you, not NoIse. Haha...

Random entry
Do I whine? I don't whine right? Do I do I do I??? I just happen to complain a little above my average quota now that I'm experiencing new school schedules and people. Right!? Right!? I don't whine okay! My voice is way too low to qualify what I say as whining!
Haha... This is in response to what Constance told me.
Anyways, if any of you, my ever-supportive fans catch me in the act of doing so, (whining) do kindly feel free to poke, prod or slap me. However do be warned that I will retaliate extremely violently if I find the grounds on which you stand on shaky. (Watch out Cons! :D)
It took me a little more than an hour to get home by train today, I found another ACJC fella who also lives in Bedok. See, I told you this entry was random.
The ncie new friend I've made (man do I sound like a kid) Kaiqi is mental, she brought the both of us, 2 COMPLETELY average, low-level, double digit score local students to register for the Physics Olympiad cum Physics H3 lessons.
HAHA. I cracked my head off laughing as I saw the crowd gathering outside the class room today, what the hell are we idiots doing here!? I thought. HAHA. Well, it's just for the fun of it. Not much obligations because the other scholar/neurotic students signing up are more than glad to see you leave the 'course'. Lessons start the following Tuesdays by the way, 1630-1800. Cool eh?
I'm not doing KI anymore. Honestly I'm a little sad but yet it's a complete liberation for me. The marginal benefit exceeds the Marginal costs. Guess what subject I took in replacement of KI?? Haha...
I found this picture of Shiyun extremely amusing and have hence decided to post it so that she'll regret not supporting my blog, (Don't think I don't know if you don't come!=P)

I miss SA a little, especially my nice scholar friend Vedika, see, I give credit. I really hope our SHS people are enjoying it there though, I was really glad Rach made it there, she's got the makes of an SAian, don't ask me what it is.

Fickle Patriotism
I find myself loving my school more and more despite it being a mere 3 days since I've stepped onto the grounds of ACJC. It's not because of the people, not the facilities, not the whole happy-happy-everything-rocks mood Orientation puts you in, but the daunting impressions the teachers and principal have made on me. In my opinion, ACJC has very level-headed, well perhaps sometimes a little above the top, plans for all their students. They wish for the students as well as the school to do well. Which ever is the principal thing they want to focus on, the school's ranking or students' results, it ultimately benefits us and thus I have no problem whatsoever with their funny antics to make the students holistic. AC's secret to success is mainly the system of making students well-rounded and not simply a bunch of (snobby) muggers.
Whee!!! Haha.. All right, I'm tired and happy.
Anyways, I'm not doing KI anymore and the lousy teacher didn't even have the decency to tell me that I hadn't qualified. He simply texted me to 'check with the teachers and see if you can register'
What the hell is that?? For crying out loud not everyone's life revolves around KI! Some people have DENTAL appointments! I ended running all over the ground floor offices looking for this teacher and that. Man, what an annoying move.

Quality
I have just returned from a rather physically, emotionally and mentally fulfilling Crystal Jade dinner with my sister and mum. It was thoroughly enjoyable even though most of the meal was spent with HongKong Kai Lan sticking out of ou mouths. You don't expect us to be fighting to talk during mealtime when we've waited so long for the food to come! The satisfaction simply came from the fact that we all got to sit down and spend time with each other. Each one of us took turns filling the periods between mouthfuls with little snippets of our lives or random comments. I found the ultimate satisfying part of the meal the aftermath when food no longer served as a distraction. Our mum gave us further insights into her life (And how incorrigible my dad can be) And my sister and I carried on our funny conversations. I think now that my sister's in hostel most of the week and me now going to a school miles away, time's going to be rather spartan. Quite miss my sister being accessible throughout the week
Even our car journey to AC and back today was made rather fruitful by my mum. She was literally brimming with eagerness to turn into every nook and cranny of Dover/Bukit Timah/Adam Road. Oo! And here's a funny one courtesy of my mummy!
She began recalling a maid she had plenty of years back who couldn't pronouce her Ps. So 'toothpaste' became 'toofface'. This only came to my mum's attention when her daughter began saying it in the exact same fashion, haha, talk about early childhood education! And here comes the day when my mum is looking for a parking lot. So here comes the maid shouting in the car,
'Mum! Mum! You can fark there! You can fark there!'
>_<
Haha... I suddenly have so many things to write about but so little time!! Well, in case some of people haven't realised, I'll be heading to the junior college which will never be the best... because of the simple fact that it is yet to be... I am rather pleased to be posted there.
All right. I'm damn tired and still have an appeal letter to write. I SO suck at selling myself.

Typically Female
We all know that the majority of us are inherently voyeuristic or have those tendencies. And I, being like any one of you curious homosapiens out there allowed myself to be led on by my quest for further knowledge. I recently found out, to my excited pleasure, that one of the St John (there really is no 's) fellas I was acquainted with very recently got married! Now this bloke isn't any old, paunchy Sirs you normally get from the HQ, this guy, to me always seemed to be a mere few years my senior. (We're talking in the range of >18) So of course I was pleasantly surprised when I saw wedding photos of the reception on Friendster!
How amazing is that!
I felt really really happy, not only for him and his new wife, but for the whole hope-emitting fact that there are still couples out there who get married at such a young age (though by now I was sure he wasn't just 18) and that these often apparently aimless and hopeless BGRs/flings actually eventually work their way to marraige! I just got all warm and fuzzy and happy that they took the relationship to a whole, mature new level. I think early (and preferably successful) marraiges are really worth looking up to. I have the tendency to be proud of young couples, hopefully they'll do the country proud by having 3 children. =)
I hope my sister gets married soon. I can barely wait!
