Update!
I went to watch the Philharmonic Winds last night!! I know hearing that probably brings snores to many people, but last night's performance was hilarious and breathtaking because Phil winds decided to go pop! (as in popular songs) they played a couple of obiang chinese songs from the 60s, Contemporary ones like Better Man, Over the Rainbow and get this, UMBRELLA! No kidding! These musicians aren't paid by the orchestra, hence plenty teach/instruct in schools, and yesterday's Esplanade concert hall met a huge swarm/herd of noisy, catcalling kids. Ok they didn't really mind the cheering at the start and end of each song, It warmed up the concert hall much more. Umbrella was really hilarious because all the kids were belting out the l yrics during the chorus, plus the conductor was shaking his ass off man!
Everyone! Go watch this! No it's not the Jade Seah video (although honestly, the voice doesn't even sound like hers la) It's John Mayer singing Free Falling in the hottest way ever.

(they didn't allow me to embed it)
I love it when I see cute couples, not cute lovey dovey typical couples, but couples which you'd never expect ot see, people you though would never be able to find a match because of their super high intellectual ability, and matches which just seem sooo weird when you see them. For instance, an uber emo ah beng with streaky blond hair and a qian-bian face holding hands with the nerdiest girl you've ever seen instead of the normal skinny, fair-skinned, long-rebinded-hair mei mei they sling across their arms. Or how bout 2 top debaters? Every line they speak lined with sarcasm, dripping with 'coolness' and saturated with cynicism. And there's nothing like watching an emo-angsty-nonchalent 20 year old poly student smiling at the photos of his girlfriend's baby girl, even though the kid's not his. Or a couple of cute coly poly people going for a romantic dinner.
When I saw each of this different couples, I couldn't help but either stare in wonderment, or get that warm and fuzzy feeling. they taught me 2 things, 1, no matter what people might say, you can be sure that you'll be able to find your complete exact match (perhaps) Or at least someone who really thinks the way you do, loves the things you do and has a similar mental capacity as you. And secondly, it taught me that love makes peopl accept things they might not have accepted before. Dating a single mum? Or an ah beng dropout (maybe la, drama a bit) what would your mother say? or what would your friends do?
All you need is Love..... Oei, love can eat one meh.

All Out Craziness
I'm truly sorry about the horrendously late post. I've been procrastinating, been stuffed with work and of course, cramming my driving lessons into 2 weeks before the deadline. Every morning for the past week I've been waking up at 7am (back to the good ole' JC days!) and taking the road to ulu Bukit Gombak (not very ulu when you actually get there) Last week every instructer that took me gave the same appalled look when they glanced at my lesson paper thingi and always ask the xsame thing: Your exam next month!? Can make it anot?? *tries not to sound too discouraging* Then I tell them I've crammed 15 lessons in 10 days (I go for lessons twice a day somedays) and the blood continues to flow to their face. Machiam I going to bang car like that.
So on the days that I have 2 lessons, I have a 2 hour break (which, Siyi very kindly accompanied me through today's killer 2 hour break)
Gombak Macs! My hangout for the past 1.5 weeks and will be for a long time should I not pass my driving test.
Time for the tribute/thanking part! I know I've kinda been MIA to some, especially since 1, my monthly sms quota was reached and grossly overshot last month. 2) I reach home late from work and can't stay up late due to my 7am rising thingi - I don't wanna fall asleep at the wheel, crash the car and get 12 points/die. 3) Even when I'm online I'm handling my Aussie shitty applications, so I often appear offline. I pontanged work a couple of times, which made me feel like shit after that because of the guilt.
Ok enough about me.
And on that Thursday, these cunning and extremely comical people/bunch from church decided to scare the hell out of me. (no that doesnt make me a saint now though) haha. A very schemingly devised plan was made to bring me out of the house while 15 people crammed into my very very small living premise. They brought pre-prepared food (so painstakingly cooked by Wendy!) cake, and even decorations!!!
LOVE YOU ALL!

By Jove!
I can't believe that I'm going to spend my 21st birthday away. Oh well I guess I'm not going to be the only one seeing that term runs from end Feb to June followed by mid July to end October, only that small fraction of Jan, Feb, June, October November and December babies will have the honour of spending their birthday with family & friends down under.
It's time for the annual list!!
And remeber how I told everone I was gonna grow fat because of thyroid? I have. I've gained 4kg over the past 2-3 weeks. Absolutely fantastic isn't it? You wouldn't think any one would have the capability to gain such weight in such a short time. Try it yourself, it's not that easy. Even if you were to binge eat everyday, your body would automatically gain weight at a more sane rate unlike mine.
Ok back to happy issues aka The List.
Actually I can't think of many things this year, however I did get most of the things which I wanted last year, (take a look if you forgot) The Piaf CD<>
Having entered the working world, I'm now less strapped for cash when I want something, now I only know how difficult it is to work your ass of to earn that something whether it be a new guitar or an expensive item. (waitressing for that measely $6/hr only feels good for the first month or so)
- A new Gibson guitar! Jazz guitar preferably, please come guitar shopping with me! Yes I know you all are saying 'isn't that blue Ovulation thingi guitar good enough??' Sorry greed has got the best of me.
- Flawless skin like gong li
- An Octaver pedal (i think that's what it's called) I've yet to locate one yet. It's a guitar effects pedal which shifts the E and A string one octave lower so that it sounds as if you're playing a bass guitar and guitar at once!
- To lose all that weight I've piled up, someone sponsor me to be Mary Chia's spokesperson please!! or sponsor like Fann Wong's Xando or sth.
- I need a new bag already.
- A Prada bag, Gucci wallet and Guess heels. (so that I can sell all of them off to fund me buying a new guitar!!)
- Someone to pull strings and get me a scholarship/bursary to fund my education for the next 4 years so that my mum can stop slogging.
- A bicycle. (I'm dead serious, cheap one from Carrefour can already) I just can't buy a bike on my own accord cos my mum would slaughter me.
- A laptop, even my 13 year old tuition kids have laptops. You know I've never had my own camera in my entire life either? The only camera I've ever owned was a disposible one whose filmed I saved for 3 years and the current camera phone I have. It's something I'll need when I go overseas anyways
- a hao nan ren, as said in previous posts before, I needa man!!
- The new Sony Ericsson 5mp phone!
- See la all the things I want too expensive.
Continue another time
13. Loose clothing, you know the kind you wear with a belt? Yes that kind of ah-lian blouse, because it's comfortable and you can not worry about your belly sticking out.
14. I really can't think of anything viable because if I really wanted these things, I'd just buy it cos I'm earning,. well kinda.

I'll just stop lessons and tell her it's because of her that they're losing a student. The teacher is really good, just that she sucks. Even the blur blur admin staff she hires are leagues better than her.
p00oo0o0ooiiiii!!!
Sights and Sounds
Let's begin with
Batman: The Dark Knight -which I caught on Sunday. I didn't even know the title of this movie except for the 'Batman' due to the large number of Batmans that have come and gone over the years. I did a little bit of googling and came up with the list of batmans. However, the stories all clash in some way or another, save for the one with George Clooney. Some say Two Face/Harvey Dent arose from a acid-spilt-on-face-accident, but some say it was because of a fire. Soooo... sadly all the Batmans can't be linked unless the actor/director works on them. E.g. Then's Michael Keaton and Now's Christian Bale who have both acted in 2 episodes each.
And did you know Batman first came out as a fat and pudgy hero?? REally unglam and fat. Arts central shows some of those B-grade episodes once in a while.
Ok enough of the facts and more on opinions. Good movie or not? It's really a matter of preference. I suppose compared to other Batman movies (George Clooney, Val Kilmer) this one's much better. Heath Ledger!!! =(
However I personally don't really like Batman to begin with, I prefer more light hearted, nerdy, less chauvanistic hero alter-egos such as Peter Parker compared to the masculine, over-achieving and flirtatious Bruce Wayne. Batman shows are always oozing with ceps, biceps, triceps, quadraceps, quintaceps, cheesy one-liners and cliche 'lessons-learnt', it's a movie style from a different time altogether, unlike modern movies such as Juno, american Gangster, etc. Script was really deliberate and unrealistic, perhaps because it's based on a comic book. It's not bad, it's just not what I prefer, get it? aiya, just watch la.
But Spiderman cuter. :D
speaking of shows I caught the recent one man + his band recital by Robin Goh. It was wittingly titled 'Happy Robin', which, if you notice, is a euphamism for him because our censorship board wouldn't allow something so explicit. It was rated R18. Sing song only leh, R18. Anyways, Robin Goh, in case you don't know, is a well-known name on stage, he was one of the Chang & Eng brothers, he was the Man in Man of Letters (ok I forgot the characters name la). He performed as Aladdin, in the Asian Boys Volumes, and much more. Basically he's a musical kind of guy, with an excellent voice. All right his showmanship isn't fantastic, but enough la. anyways he spent the evening belting songs about loving him and missing him and waiting for the right man (you get the idea) Which I found absolutely adorable. He talked about his first love, which was really cute, he's also quite a tiny guy, which also adds to his cuteness because everytime he got on his high stool he struggled like a child. Haha..
And as you can seee by the picture, he's extremely proud of his sexuallity and declares it loud and clear with his diamond ear stud! I've yet to see him without it. I bet it was gross for him to do kissing scenes with Emma Yong or whatever female co-star he had. HAha..
And not to forget!! RJ Rosales was there to support (along with a lot of big theatre-shots) like Emma Yong, Ivan Heng, (AC people, I saw Lee Th ean Ho there!!)
RJ is one stunner. My sister thinks he's probably gay, but I'd like to think he's not. He's so dreamy~!! Plus he's going to have his one-man+band recital in September too!! :D:D
Gleeeee.

Hostelsss
Wahhh.. the papya I'm eating now is so sweet, if feels like it's been saturated and soaked in sugar.
Talked to Anli for like a while today and found out that she's on the verge of starving cos food is running out and it's so expensive. Snli!! Not war leh!! 21st century already!! Makes me wonder how my life down under will be like next year, thankfully the hostels provide food, but I havent't finished appliying yet because of the bitch that it is.
The fibre from the papaya's working.
And chio's entry was so touching, it's so coontagious, this whole tearing thing. See la chio!!

Lasik!
See the milo? And just the right temperature and gao-ness (thickness) too!! It was my 3rd cup of milo yesterday, hahaha... THe pre and post op waiting area was a little cubicle like place, basically the are is as large as a coffee table together with an armchair and standing room for a couple of people. The wait didn't feel long beacuse I had people like fei fei and my tuition kid smsing me. Plus I had my Michael Crichton book!(andnot to forget milo haha, So I was one very happy pre-op patient. I know it looks gross, many people experience bloodshot eyes after the op due to the suction cups placed in. Yes, suction cups. Groos right? It was painful, but it was kinda freaky, cod they kept telling meto lok straight when I cant see a thing, so I imagined lookings straight. The procedure itself was a mere 15 minutes, and the lasering was funny, you'd think lasers sound like this, piupiupiu!!
Noooooo! He let me hear hw it souded like before the actualy lasering so that I wouldn't get a fright. It was more of a really loud and rude kakakakakakakakaka.
And I could smell my cornea being burnt. Cao-tah cao-tah smell one.
And they made me buy 10 boxes of eyedrp[s! $16+ per box leh!! siao one... And it's not a life stime supply, barely a few months nia.
So everything looks like this to me now, No not that I see funny green bears la, its just that everything has a glow about it. Soo.... you all would look much more good-looking to me now because of my chair-mareness.

NTUC boyfriends
My sister was going through her old stuff, and of course this meant old notebooks, pictures, neoprints (her time one) and loveletters. Wah lao I never get any one lor!! My fault that I'm not vulnerable enough or pretty or xiu jia enough for guys to feel attracted to so that their egos can be boosted. I argly and phat lar.
Ok I know this seems rather incoherent.
Anyways, my manager told me yesterday that 2 girls at my workplace were pregnant. To my surprise/horror, it were the 2 kinda ah-lian girls la. Well I think it's 1.5 of them pregnant because the other one got her period recently or something. But the other one seems to be 100% knocked up. they're my age, and they are kids themselves playing with PSPs and gossiping about whatnots. I'm not sure whether she'll be following through, but a life changing thing such as this can make a lot of people grow up, and to me, any pregnancy is a good thing, whether its a teenage one, or a foreign maid's one, or a couple longing for a child.
Ok I'm going to the libraryin search of a hao nan ren.

The Hermitage in St Petersburg, Russia
Here's a quick summary of what exactly The Hermitage Museum in Russia is because I know it's not exactly the type of information one would keep in his or her head. So...
The Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg is, as you can see, a musem. In fact, it is one of the largest museums in the world. The royal Winter Palace of the Romanovs is also now part of the modern day Hermitage. It was started by Catherine the Great, one of the Tsarinas (female Tsar) who was one of the greatest Tsars in Russian history. She had brought the country much success and did a great deal in pulling them together (hence the name Catherine the Great) She wanted Russia to have something to show off, something the people could be proud of, thus she proceeded to construct and create the largest Museum in the world. When I say large, I mean humongous, gargantuan, colossal, Stratospheric!
A documentry once showed a videographer simply walking through the entire place wthout stop from room to room just to show every single room in this palace. It had taken almost 4 hours without stop for them to cover everything. During the revolution when Lenin's men had stormed the place looking for the royal family, they charged in shouting and carrying all sorts of weapons with the purpose of enprisoning the royal family. However they ended up charging from room to room for an hour looking before actually finding the royal family. How anti-climatic is that. Plus, it's filled with such an array of exhibits, purchased from different corners of the world which numbers up to 3 million. It would take 8 years to see if you spent 1 minute on each exhibit everyday. We didn't find it really interesting because most of it was art pieces, I even got to see Da Vinvi's! However it was the history of the various art pieces that really got me listening. I mean, I will never get what impressionists or surrealists are doing.

Here's my sister's way of keeping warm in cold Russia - Bao-ing a spare shawl round her belly. As you can see the interior of the museum/palace is absolutely splendid. The opulant interior architechture was overwhelming (Tourguide's favourite word... Opulant) Parts of the museum were actually copies of Italian or French or whatever country's museums and churches because the Tsars during that time were damn competitive. Kinda like mordern day Ch-eye-na. (oops)
This one is supposed to be a copy of a church or something in Versailes I think.
This is an entire gallery of war heros. One is taken by me and the other one is stolen from google. You can guess pretty easily because of my mum's head in the picture. HAha.. We were the only Asians around man...
And I simply love the fact that when I see this picture online, I know that I've been there. So cool!!
Talking about Russia links to Communism right? That's what everyone says when I mention Russia. In case you don't know, USSR is long gone and they have a new monarch on their hands. haha. Lenin & Co. weren't happy that the Tsars were enjoying such lavish lives while they were starving in ghettos, just look at their chandeliars. Most of them are gold plated cast iron, some are silver coated, some are diamond studded, but there was one pretty funny one, it was plaster of paris or styrofoam or something like that painted in gold. Ever wondered how they lit the chandeliars in the past? These babies were mostly more than 15 feet off the ground! Plus have you ever seen the ladders that we use today in history books? No right. Trick is, the chandeliars were retractable! They were released down ever morning and lit, then pulled up by a rope after that! Smart right.
Anyways, to end off, the most hilarious painting I saw during my entire trip. Don't you think he looks like some cartoon? Btw these photos were illegally taken. We had to pay 100 rubles to take photographs and 200 to take videos. (We never paid anything... shhh!!)

Kuantan and Peace!
1) the food was unbelievably good, hence I engorged myself almost 24 hours a day
2) The service apartments we stayed at rocked cos there was aircon and the close proximity we had just made things much easier compared to hotel rooms, but much better than sleeping bags. A right amount of personal space in my opinion.
3) The people 'taking care' of us were simply lovely, driving us to and fro, bringing us to all the sights and sounds (mainly the beach and the megamall) and not complaining one bit. Plus they fed us sooo well!!
Anyways, this is a proper post compared to my previous few, I didn't even blog about Russia as much as I am about to on Kuantan, perhaps it's because it was a time I was truly happy in a long time. With the people and energy around me, and the kids which make you laugh your socks off. My baby guitar got a few knocks here and there, but it was hell worth it.
Oh yes, I bet several of you are probably wondering what Kuantan? Ok, Last Friday, a bunch of us from church (a huge bunch of 30+) sat on a lau pok, shaky bus for 8 hours driving along the malaysian east coast to Kuantan for a mission trip. But honestly, this didn't feel like one because of all the food, lodging, and shopping we did. :D Basically we put up a skit for the kids over at Kuantan about the importance of.... Ok no worries, I'm not going to blabber a sermon right now.
Pictorial!!
We needed to cast 3 girls as bimbos. and Cons kena-ed! Muhahahaha...
Guys stop drooling, 2 are taken. Haha, the bimbos trying to look as brainless as they could. After the show, they actually had a whole beeline of boys lining up for a 'meet and greet'! It wasn't part of the plan though, but it sure was funny! One went up to them and pai sehly said they were pretty. Haha!! But... Even bimbos get exhausted, candid shot of the head bimbo Cons, aka CRISTABELLE.
Oh yes, they had planned on calling themselves Cristablelle, Tinkerbelle, and Dingdongbelle.

Lights
Anyways, I have so much I want to tell you guys but I just don't know where to start, and I'm not really keen on doing that random update that I always do, I think you're quite sick of it. Haha...
Don't you think the Lights are taking over the world?not the fluoroscent or incandescent, but the lights we get with Coca Cola, Pepsi, cigarettes, milk and I reckon it's going to be hitting pork pretty soon. It's just so expected of humans, to come up with something, and than later come up with an alternative which is supposedly healthier than the previous. Skimmed milk, Low fat sugar( if there's ever such a thing) Marlboro Lights, (it's called that not because the cigarette lights up as so I thought but becase one stick contains less nicotine/tocacco than a regular stick) , Less sweet Ribena (why don't you just use less?) It's a gimick I think we've all fallen prey to. Now instead of one sachet of sweet white sugar, we add 2 packets of less sweet brown sugar. Instad of smoking one cigarette? We smoke 2 light cigaretts. You know what I mean.
Coca Cola Zero (Then what was Coke Light all about?)

One Step At a Time
Oh damn.
There's this nagging feelign that I'm just going to screw every thing up before I actually get to start my university education.
I'm glad the school holidays are here, means Nat's going to be free-er and I get to have fun with the tuition kids getting ahead of the school.

Insomnia again, but it's getting better. The day before I went to bed at 1 only to fall asleep at 3 and to wake up at 5 and once again at 8. Irritating. Now it's 7.30am, I woke up 6.30 this morning for no reason save for spontaneous-waking-up-syndrome (if that exists) and ordered McDelivery breakfast (Which is oh so shiok when you wake up on a Saturday morning and feel lazy) It's overpriced, but I'm not thinking about it, just the food. hehheh.
I had a great time in Russia (momemtum's up) but I must say that Germany was better *gasp!* Russians are highly disorganised and painfully slow at service. Quote from our tourguide,
'They do things at such amazingly slow and inefficient paces that you wouldn't know how you could have done it any slower than they have'
It's really true, kinda like the F1 pitstop, where there are 2 people just to top up the petrol tank of the car, (one pumps the petrol, another carries the pipe) But just that they do that 100x slower and with even more people.
Our tourguide was really really good, he'd been doing Russian tours for 11 years. And just when you think Russia's becoming/has become a tourist hotspot, you are soooo wrong. They're still as anal as ever on immigration checks, baggages still get lost, (he said we were the first tour with a complete set of luggage in 11 years) and things there are still inefficient. Ok fine so the touristy areas are pretty well esteblished, just a problem with management la..
Ok I shall continue on russia with mroe pictures next.
Oh yea, they call McDonald's McLennin's for fun, haha.. OK fun not the russians, but the tourists. Apparently the first Macs opend when the Soviet Union fell, so..
Lenin went down, the golden arches came up.
